Ascension Lutheran Church is a very welcoming congregation of about 150 attending members. We have Bible Study for Adults on Sunday at 9:00 AM and Sunday School for Youth during the 10:30 AM traditional worship service. Regardless if you are a life-long Lutheran who has missed a few Sundays, or if you are a Christian from another church looking for a different light on the Gospel, you are welcome in this place!

Whether you are a young family, a retiree, or a single looking for a new Church experience, our church invites you to join us as we study the Bible and learn about God in our life. We offer programs for all age groups.

Our Pastor comes to us with a strong musical background and a teaching style that makes the scriptures alive and applicable to every life and lifestyle. Pastor Jim Young served 20 years in the United States Navy as a musician and Band Officer. Following retirement he attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA, where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1997. He has served congregations in Hanover and St. Thomas, PA and was called to Ascension in November, 2004. He and his wife Patti reside in Ocala, and have five children and six grandchildren.
