About Our Church

Whether you are a young family, a retiree, or a single looking for a new Church experience, our church invites you to join us as we study the Bible and learn about God in our life. We offer programs for all age groups.

Our Pastor comes to us with a strong musical background and a teaching style that makes the scriptures alive and applicable to every life and lifestyle. Pastor Jim Young served 20 years in the United States Navy as a musician and Band Officer. Following retirement he attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA, where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1997. He has served congregations in Hanover and St. Thomas, PA and was called to Ascension in November, 2004. He and his wife Patti reside in Ocala and have five children and five grandchildren with the sixth due in March, 2008.

Our church is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
